Collaboration Tiles
Research
The “Cluster” tile designed
with Paola Lenti is an extension of the concrete and aggregate experiments
Young Projects developed for the Rock House.
The tiles use multiple colors of cement cast into a soft, bulging form with recycled marble chips. Once cured, the tile is cut in one of two orientations to reveal the marble chips and the latent figuration between the melded chips and cement. The square tiles produce a secondary graphic figuration out of the bulbous cast which allows for numerous aesthetic possibilities as the tiles are aggregated.
